A good week

Great progress in the book area this past week! Most of these are on CD and I listen to them to and from work and then again if I take a walk in the evening. It makes me feel like I am making good use of my time.
In the sewing arena, I love the little baby quilt that I just finished. It won't be in my possession much longer since it will go to baby Emily Grace on Sunday when she will celebrate her Holy Baptism.

The Book Club

Okay, it is official...we have a newly created book club! The first book we are reading is Vanishing Acts by Jodi Picoult. So far the group is myself, Tina, and Missie. We need to decide on a name and the perfect place to meet to discuss the book. Atmosphere and food are high priorities. Happy reading!

A good line

Having finished the book Quiet Strength by Tony Dungy, I thought I would share a line from it.
"If you owned a business and you spent as much time with it as you do with your wife and family, how successful do you think that business would be?"
The introduction to this book said it was not about football but about Tony's principles, practices and leadership style. That was the primary focus, but it was not without many, many, play by plays of games that he had played in and coached. The weird part is that I actually remembered some of those games and knew a lot of the players names.
Let's see.... I have read a golf related book, A Good Walk Spoiled and now a football related book. Will any guys be willing to read a good romance or sewing book??

The correction is made to the authors name, thank you. That was a post by the way!
In reading The Fire and the Staff  I find it helpful that Pr. Preus repeats his point in many different ways. I have learned that I had the wrong concept of what doctrine actually referred to. The following passage was interesting to me for some strange reason: "No form of church work is more thankless and boring than serving on a congregational constitution committee."
I did finish the book  A Thousand Splendid Suns today, it was an excellent book. I pity the Islamic life many women are forced to live.
Three new books have been checked out today! The first one I chose to read (listen to) is Quiet Strength by Tony Dungy.
Peace be with you!
